I remember, once upon a time, when I used to be very fascinated
with Swami Vivekananda and his life as a parivarjaka (wandering
monk), I had also this idea that I would take a hundred rupees,
leave my home and walk out for a month. Anywhere, just go away
for a month and come back. No friends, nothing but a hundred rupees
in the pocket. Then I decided I should do it with one rupee in
the pocket. So I put this proposition before my Master, that I
want to go out for one month, away from everything, walk with
one rupee in the pocket.
He said," Dekho, yahi musibat hai, ke Master ke uper jo bharosa
nai hai, tumko, ek ruppaiah pe hai." The faith that you don't
have in the Master, you have in one single rupee. Because you
are prepared to venture out with one rupee, but not with faith
in the Master. After all, how much can one rupee do for you?

Q: Do you rely more on material support than faith
in Master and God? Think of examples in day-to-day life. Would
you have the faith in Master to do what Vivekananda did and travel
the world without money?
Q: What is faith? How does it develop? In whom do you
have faith?
O, Master!
Thou art the real goal of human life.
We are yet but slaves of wishes
Putting bar to our advancement,
Thou art the only God and power
To bring us up to that stage.
