The following questions are designed to help
you gauge an appropriate application of time and commitment toward the
goal you seek. Consider your response to question three in Section 1
while answering these questions.
- For the attainment of the goal you seek, how long do you anticipate
practicing a method of meditation? A few months, a year, or a lifetime?
Do you think of a meditative practice as a curriculum with an ending,
or as an ongoing practice?
- How often do you think you will need to apply yourself toward the
goal you seek? Weekly? Daily? A couple of times a day? How much time
per week/per day is appropriate for you to spend to realize the change
you want to experience in your life?
- Testing any method is important and is best approached systematically.
What is your current approach in selecting methods for growth and
self-actualization? What do you think of trying one system at a time
for a sufficient period of time, instead of trying several systems
at the same time or not giving enough time and commitment to one system?
- What are the criteria that you use to evaluate whether or not a
system is working for you?
